Ascent Helicopters is a dynamic helicopter charter company in Parksville, BC with a 20-year history of domestic and international operations. Ascent offers specialized services to the aerial/powerline industry and has been awarded a 10-year contract with BCEHS to provide air ambulance service to the entire province of BC. We also have a proud history in wildfire suppression, search and rescue, heli-skiing, mining/natural resource, tourism and film/television.
We are currently looking to hear from local candidates who are qualified to provide finance/administrative support within our Finance department. This position will be payroll as well as accounts receivables and payables. This will be an in-office position located at our head office in Parksville.
The ideal candidate will be a hard worker who is organized, detail oriented, comfortable with technology and have a continuous learning mindset. This position is focused work, and the ideal candidate enjoys working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, verify, and process employee payroll payments
- Process subcontractor invoices and process payments
- Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, Records of Employment and other statements
- Assist with entry of payables, receivables credit card transactions, bank statements, and inventory
- Perform administrative duties
- Communicate in a professional manner with vendors or clients when additional clarification or information is required
Position Requirements:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll (must have)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Teams, Word)
- Intermediate/Advanced skill level in Excel
Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
- NetSuite
- Avanti
- Federally regulated workplaces
- Averaging agreements
- Human Resources administration
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
