Ready for a career glow-up? As the Manager, Category & Brand Operations, Fragrance at Sephora, you will be the education and operations expert for our retail teams, esteemed brand partners, and merchants.
Your mission is to collaborate with our brands to bring their products to life in-store and animate them through our Beauty Advisors. We are seeking a true product and fragrance connoisseur with a passion for creating unparalleled learning experiences that ignite the enthusiasm of our in-store leaders and Beauty Advisors, driving the client experience and selling behaviors that make Sephora shine in the fast-paced and ever-evolving beauty landscape. You will also help bring our initiatives to life in our stores by engaging and inspiring our people and supporting the ongoing optimization of our programs and processes.
What You'll Do
Educational Leadership:
- Serve as a subject matter expert, crafting product and category perspectives across content, education materials, videos, and digital content primarily for Fragrance, along with other categories as needed.
- Lead training sessions both in-person and virtually for small and large groups, including Beauty Advisors, Retail, and Field Support Center Leaders and Executives.
- Foster positive relationships with brands, collaborating to develop training and education content, continuously improving content, and communicating needs and challenges when necessary.
- Support brands in enhancing Beauty Advisor and Store Leadership engagement through in-store training, virtual training, digital learning content, and new store openings based on feedback and results.
- Develop and curate personalized content to bolster product and category knowledge for enhanced client experience.
- Act as an on-camera spokesperson in Sephora-created videos and lead teams or contractors for content creation, as needed.
Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with brands to deliver strategies for education, visit cycles, digital libraries, training products, etc.
- Monitor and adjust content effectiveness within training programs in collaboration with corporate and field-based partners.
- Lead collaborative store visits with department colleagues, leadership, and field teams to actively gather frontline employee insights, driving continuous improvement and increased relevance of education programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive category growth strategies and organizational initiatives.
- Propose and design innovative learning solutions to address organizational needs related to the category.
Operational Excellence
- Support brand operation programs for seamless and efficient processes that serve stores and brands.
- Develop operations content when required and stay informed on industry trends and training practices in retail, beauty, and social spaces.
- Communicate learning goals for Sephora-created content, identifying program gaps for comprehensive training.
- Update Brand Partner Resources, maintain a central filing system for brand information, and provide regular feedback to brand partners.
Project Management
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines, ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverables.
- Attend and observe various trainings to assess impact and lead the induction and onboarding for new brands.
What You'll Bring
- 5-7 years of experience in retail education and/or brand management. Luxury fragrance experience preferred.
- Proven success in crafting and implementing impactful educational programs.
- Ability to translate training needs into effective educational programs (Instructor-led and Virtual).
- Proficiency in linking product and category expertise within a retail setting.
- Proven experience in leading and balancing various projects with intersecting timelines, effectively prioritizing tasks while ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverables.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional facilitation skills and proven ability to develop, deliver, and measure effective educational programming.
- High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks with the ability to manage workload with shifting priorities.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and relishing in working collaboratively with cross-functional groups.
- Technically savvy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, Box, etc.).
- Exercise respect, initiative, passion, and flexibility.
- Ability to quickly build positive relationships and effectively communicate needs and challenges.
- Experience identifying content needs for a variety of audiences and expertise levels.
- Ability to travel throughout Canada, and occasionally to the US, as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Bilingual (English & French) considered an asset.
