Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the general supervision of the Technical Platforms Manager of the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the health professional is responsible for conducting exercise tests and pulmonary function tests for various clinical research studies.

General Duties

• Conducts pulmonary function tests,

• Conducts exercise tests on a cycle ergometer or treadmill,

• Monitors gas exchange, ventilation, and other physiological parameters as required by the study protocol,

• Monitors 12-lead ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation,

• Promotes the use of efficient methods of work and provides a safe environment for patients,

• Completes Case Report Forms and provides source document to researchers with source documentation as per ICH/GCP guidelines,

• Conducts any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor,

• Possibility to learn how to perform other assessments, such as functional evaluations, assisting during bronchoscopies, and others.

Additional information

Status : 1 year contract, renewable - Temporary Occasional.
Approximately 7 to 14 hours per week.
Pay Scale: $24.40 to $45.29. Commensurate with education and work experience.
Work Shift: Monday to Friday daytime, evening, and weekend on occasions.
Work Site: Glen Site.
