**Child Care Educator**

**Position Title**: Child Care Educator

**Reporting to**: Assistant Director **/ **Director

**Minimum Qualifications**:Grade 12 Education or equivalent, and certified as a Child Care Educator in
Alberta.

**Summary of Responsibilities**: Responsible for program delivery, communication, administration and health and safety.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. PROGRAM DELIVERY**
a. Work with child care team in implementing programming.

b. Create a program which is reflective of the values and goals of the Flight Framework.

c. Communicate with families regarding program activities and expectations.

d. Communicate all pertinent information to other educators regarding program needs or requirements.

**2. WORKING WITH CHILDREN**
a. Closely supervise children at all times.

b. Maintain child/educator ratios at all time

c. Create and maintain positive relationships with children and their families.

d. Encourage children to foster independence and to be responsible for themselves and their actions.

e. Model appropriate behaviours.

f. Guide children’s behaviour according to the Child Guidance Policy.

g. Encourage the development of healthy self-esteem.

h. Following the principles of the pyramid model of Social/Emotional Development, use the skills and tools to help children develop.

**3. HEALTH & SAFETY**
a. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the children by following the Health and Safely

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $15.55-$18.10 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
