Toronto, Ontario, Canada Emburse Full time

Who We Are:

At Emburse, you'll not just imagine the future – you'll build it. As a leader in travel and expense solutions, we are creating a future where technology drives business value and inspires extraordinary results.

At Emburse, we empower businesses to spend smarter — combining innovative SaaS solutions with an employee-first culture. We're looking for a Sr. Global Benefits Analyst who approaches work with an ownership mentality — someone who is proactive, curious, and energized by solving problems. In this role, you'll support and continuously improve our global employee benefits programs, ensuring a seamless experience for our employees and internal partners.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES DIRECT EXPERIENCE WITH BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION IN THE US.

You will collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external vendors to ensure operational excellence and deliver meaningful impact across all regions.

What You'll Do
  • Support the administration of global benefit programs (health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs) while identifying opportunities to improve processes and employee experience.
  • Approach work with a sense of ownership and accountability — taking initiative to move projects forward and proposing solutions rather than waiting for direction.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Payroll, HR, Finance, and vendors to ensure smooth end-to-end processes.
  • Collaborate with brokers, carriers, and internal stakeholders on benefit renewals, plan design improvements, and vendor performance evaluation.
  • Analyze benefits data and market insights to recommend enhancements that improve competitiveness, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Support U.S. Open Enrollment, including planning, communications, testing, and vendor coordination.
  • Participate in benefits systems-related work (configuration updates, automation enhancements, or future implementation projects).
  • Develop employee education materials and deliver communications that help employees fully understand their benefits options.
  • Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, parental, personal, statutory leaves) and support ADA accommodations.
  • Support benefits compliance including reporting, required notices, 5500 filings, and nondiscrimination testing.
  • Continuously look for better ways to work — streamlining and automating workflows to reduce friction for employees and internal teams.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field (required).
  • 4+ years of experience in benefits administration (health, welfare, retirement) with experience in benefits administration for the US.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating benefits across multiple regions — preferred.
  • HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) — a plus.
  • Ownership mindset — proactive, accountable, and motivated to improve outcomes, not just manage tasks.
  • Curiosity and systems-thinking — enjoys learning how things work and looking for ways to optimize them.
  • Experience working with HRIS/benefit systems; comfortable supporting configuration updates or future system enhancements.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, able to influence and collaborate effectively with Payroll, HR, Finance, and external vendors.
  • Deep knowledge of benefit programs, leave administration, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to support and educate employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
