Bail Supervisor/Court Worker/Housing Support Worker

The John Howard Society of Kingston & District is recruiting a professional and motivated Court Worker/ Bail Supervisor role. The right candidate will join a highly motivated team with a track record of very high achievement and an appetite for change and innovation. This position is located in our Napanee office on a fixed term contract to March 31, 2026.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide information, counselling, and support to clients of the Bail program
- Provide emergency assistance to clients within the first few days or weeks of transition from charge/institution to the community
- Enforce the conditions of bail release
- Interview clients in the cellblock at court before a court appearance
- Complete standarized assessments to evaluate the client's risk and need areas, and to develop and implement an intervention plan to address those areas of need that are most strongly associated with criminal activity
- Prepare reports for the court promptly outlining bail supervision summary
- Ensure client file notes are maintained on the client information management system
- Maintain client master files by affixing assessment and intervention plan, statistical forms, consents, and any relevant internal information including all program forms
- Complete risk assessments and create case plans in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in the social sciences field, combined with case management experience. Specific education, training or certification in community corrections is an asset
- Previous experience case managing clients who have high/complex needs or have multiple barriers to reintegration
- Knowledge of motivational, solution-focused and crisis intervention counselling techniques
- Knowledge of community resources
- Knowledge of risk management
- A valid Ontario Full "G" licence and a reliable vehicle are a requirements for this position
