The Braefoot Community Association creates and runs outdoor based summer programs, including outdoor sports and STEM activities, for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years. We believe that the more positive activities our youth are involved in, the less time they are exposed to potentially negative influences. We encourage and enable youth to participate in activities that promote positive and active lifestyles, which then contribute to healthy communities.

We are currently seeking full-time, seasonal Braefoot Camp Leaders looking to bring excitement and enthusiasm to the position and be a part of a team dedicated to creating positive experiences for children and youth.

The Camp Leader will be responsible for ensuring the success of camp programs through the conducting of camp activities and following daily schedules. An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following abilities and qualities:

  • Can handle and work with children in group sizes of up to 12
  • Able to coordinate successfully with other team leaders and supervisors.
  • Maintains a friendly, positive and outgoing disposition within a child-friendly environment.

This position will demand the completion of tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the following skills and accomplishments:

  • A demonstrated ability to handle and maintain various camp equipment and materials.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service ability.
  • Must submit and pass a Criminal Record Check.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must possess Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C qualifications.

As a part of this position, the Camp Leader will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Leading and conducting camp activities and programs.
  • Communicating with other team leaders and supervisors to maintain program quality.
  • Helping with the setup and take down of the camp daily.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and condition of camp sports equipment inventory and materials.
  • Receiving and handling correspondence from parents and other external partners.
  • Ensuring safety and well-being of participants throughout camp programs and activities.
  • Completing other tasks as required by the camp manager or staff supervisor.

Participation in a mandatory staff training weekend is required prior to the start of camp. The training consists of two 8-hour days of hands-on instruction, equipping leaders with essential skills in safety procedures, camper supervision, and team building to ensure a positive and well-organized camp experience.

Please note this is a full 10 week commitment.
