About the Role:

As a Metal Recycler, you will play a crucial role in our operations by sorting, separating, and processing various metals. Your ability to accurately identify ferrous and non-ferrous materials and your skill in operating a forklift will be key to your success in this fast-paced, physical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort and separate different types of metals (e.g., copper, aluminum, steel, brass) by type and grade.
  • Identify and classify ferrous and non-ferrous materials accurately.
  • Operate a forklift to move, load, and unload scrap metal and materials safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare materials for processing and shipping by baling, bundling, or loading.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report any maintenance issues.
  • Assist with general yard duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a metal scrap yard or recycling facility is required.
  • Ability to accurately identify and separate different types of metals.
  • Valid Forklift License/Certification is mandatory.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions (lifting, bending, pushing/pulling).
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • This is a physically demanding role that involves working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be comfortable with frequent lifting, standing, and walking.
  • Safety PPE (hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves) is required and must be worn at all times.
