Job Summary:
The West Vancouver Tennis Club is a vibrant and inclusive community of active tennis players, welcoming both members and public participants of all ages. With strong demand for lessons delivered by a team of skilled coaches and a year-round calendar of events and tournaments, the Club is a hub for recreational and competitive play, as well as social connection.
The Club is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team in a part-time contract position. This role will support day-to-day communications and play a key part in member engagement and community outreach.
This role offers flexible, offsite work hours and the potential for expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and update website and social media content to reflect Club events, coaching programs and news.
- Draft, edit, and distribute clear, engaging and timely email campaigns to the membership.
- Support the Community Outreach team with communications related to the Club's Sponsorship Program and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Excellent writing, editing, and formatting skills.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and managing varied workloads.
- Ability to respond promptly during busier periods or time-sensitive situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with website CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress) and social media management tools.
- Familiarity with Mailchimp, WordPress and social media management tools is an asset.
- Basic troubleshooting ability and interest in learning new digital tools.
- Previous experience in communications, marketing, or nonprofit/community engagement is an asset.
Position Details:
Suitable for a candidate seeking flexible working hours and location.
- Hours: Part-time with uneven workload depending on event calendar and seasonal needs. Estimated 30-60 hours per month.
- Compensation: $22-$25 per hour. Contractor bills monthly for hours worked.
- Location: Primarily remote/offsite, with occasional onsite presence as needed.
- Reporting: Reports directly to the Club Manager.
- Opportunity: Potential for expanded responsibilities over time based on performance and Club needs.
