Manitoba Public Insurance is accepting applications for a 5-month term position in our PIPP department. The hours of work for this role will be part-time and based on the availability of the successful candidate. What is PIPP? PIPP stands for Personal Injury Protection Plan, and all Manitoba residents have injury claims coverage whether they own a vehicle or not. PIPP also covers visitors to Manitoba who are injured in an accident if a Manitoba registered vehicle is involved. Coverage also extends to all Manitoba residents if injured outside the province in Canada or the United States. As a student in the PIPP department, you will be a part of the dynamic team that assists in data verification/entry/analysis for all PIPP related injury claims.
Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the Injury Claims Management teams.
- Reviews injury claims data and verifies data for accuracy.
- Verify invoices and account details for completeness, validity, valuation and authorization.
- Process payments in accordance with established procedures, standards, guidelines and fee schedules and best practices guidelines.
- Enter invoice data and ensure payment details are correct.
- Incorporates and reconciles data in Excel for departmental statistics and reports from a variety of sources.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or returning to study at a post-secondary educational institution. This position may be of interest to you if you're studying business administration/commerce, nursing, or psychology/sociology.
- Ability to perform basic calculations.
- Excellent keyboarding and data entry skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy is required.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and meet strict deadlines.
