Location Safety Manager – Winnipeg, MB

At First Student, safety isn't just a priority—it's our way of life. Our Location Safety Managers play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable transportation and outstanding customer service. In this leadership role, you'll champion safety initiatives, guide training programs, and maintain compliance standards, all while fostering a positive and supportive workplace.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee driver hiring and compliance processes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to location trainers.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and workplace injuries; determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit compliance documentation; maintain accurate records.
  • Deliver safety training to drivers and attendants, including passenger management.
  • Conduct driver road checks and performance evaluations.
  • Supervise staff responsible for safety, hiring, and training.
  • Analyze safety trends and prepare reports to drive continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • 2–3 years of transportation or safety-related experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial safety regulations.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Creative problem-solving skills for safety challenges.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle for local travel.
