The Opportunity

Reporting to the Client Services Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing grounds care, property maintenance and janitorial services to assigned areas, while adhering to established safe work practices. Working under regular direction, this role maintains a high standard of cleanliness, orderliness, and safety for interior and exterior areas of NSPHA properties throughout Cumberland County.

What You'll Do

· Maintain the cleanliness of common areas such as elevators, laundry rooms, public washrooms, lounges, recreation areas, storage rooms, and shared appliances.

· Clean vacant units throughout the county and remove debris, as assigned. Prepare garbage and recyclables for removal from properties and clean garbage rooms/chutes.

· Perform grounds maintenance and ensure exterior entrances, exits and walkways are kept clear.

· Vacuum, dust and clean windows. Sweep/wash stairwells and stair railings. Wash, buff and wax flooring. Maintain janitorial supplies and equipment.

· Perform routine inspections throughout buildings to ensure cleanliness and security. Report unsafe conditions or practices and take corrective measures as needed.

· Coordinate with Grounds Foreperson to report any building issues. Contact elevator maintenance service immediately if there is any breakdown of service.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

· High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years' related experience.

· Ability to safely and effectively operate tools, equipment and chemicals used for cleaning and ground maintenance.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills when interacting with co-workers, tenants, contractors, vendors, and the public.

· Capacity to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and complete daily activities according to work schedule.

· Ability to exercise professionalism and sound judgement, while maintaining confidentiality.

The Fine Print

An equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.

This position requires a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Regular travel within Cumberland County is required.

· Salary: $20.45 – $23.20 hourly (TE 10)

· Schedule: 35-hour work week
