ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Job Description:

Reporting to the Controller you will be working as a critical member of our accounting team. You will oversee the Accounts Payable function for several of our companies. You will be responsible to ensure that we deliver the highest level of attention to detail while managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain accounts payable records and filing of invoices on a timely basis,

· You will maintain accounts payable records for up to six operating companies,

· Verify, evaluate, code and process all accounts payable invoices ensuring appropriate detail, supporting documents and approvals,

· Review, balance and release trade holdback invoices subject to approval by the Project Manager,

· Reconcile and resolve contract, statement, invoice and or payment discrepancies,

· Schedule and prepare payment by cheque, EFT or transfer with appropriate backup,

· Prior to release of payment verify that all appropriate documentation is up to date. For example, WSIB clearance, Statutory Declarations and Certificates of Insurance,

· Respond to inquiries from external vendors and internal staff, promptly and professionally,

· Process journal entries for inter-company accounts payable and maintain supporting records,

· Assist with the processing and distribution of the annual T5018,

· Other responsibilities may be required as directed.

Requirements:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook),

· Accounts construction industry payable experience, including knowledge pertaining to application of WSIB clearance and statutory declaration requirements,

· Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner,

· Strong and accurate data entry skills,

· Highly organized with effective time management skills,

· Ability to work independently as part of a team,

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills,

Recommended Qualifications:

· Successful completion of a college diploma or university degree,

· Working knowledge of Jonas Premier accounting software.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
