The Opportunity
We are is seeking a talented, driven, and customer-focused
Area Sales Manager
based in the Montreal area. This role will be responsible for business development and strategic account management across the entire Province of Quebec, primarily focusing on the Montreal and Quebec City regions.
The successful candidate will support growth initiatives, strengthen customer relationships, and execute the company's sales and marketing strategies aligned with national objectives. This role reports directly to the National Sales Manager for Carlo Gavazzi Canada.
You will be part of a sales organization that is passionate about working with our clients to create a
unique product that is more advanced than anything currently available on the market. As an Area
Sales Manager, you will drive and support the development of the Canadian National Sales Company, with the aim of reaching and exceeding the objectives in terms of sales and profitability.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Develop successful sales strategies according to the corporate "Strategic Sales Plan"
- Regularly visit potential customers and distributors across Quebec to drive growth and strengthen product presence in the market.
- Target and engage key customer segments—including OEMs, System Integrators, and Panel Builders—to create demand and expand market penetration for electronic and electrical automation components.
- Ensure continuous improvement in sales performance, focusing on increasing revenue and profitability within the assigned territory.
- Create and execute action plans in collaboration with distributors, product managers, and sales teams to achieve defined sales objectives.
- Identify strategic market opportunities in the Montreal area and evaluate the most effective sales channels for product expansion.
- Prepare detailed sales reports, including sales volumes, forecasts, and business performance analysis

- Solid and successful experience with b2b sales of automation components to relevant key accounts (e.g. OEMs, panel builders, distributors) on the local market.
- Proficiency in creating, negotiating, and closing business opportunities.
- High level of communication, presentation and numeracy skills and a self-driven solution-oriented
- mindset.
- Based in the Montreal area, Quebec, Canada.
- Post-secondary Education in electronics and/or automation, and/or electrical engineering and strong
- knowledge of market of components (Components, Switches, Sensors, etc.).
- 5+ years of experience selling industrial controls, switches, sensors components, and energy products.
- Passionate about the Industrial and Building Automation market; capable of working independently with local customers to achieve sales objectives.
- Established industry contacts and experience collaborating with distributor channel partners.
- Able to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team within the assigned territory.
- Willing to travel as needed to meet sales targets.
- Fully bilingual in English and French.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and major CRM tools.
- Hands-on, pragmatic, with many examples of personally executed projects.
- Adaptable and flexible, comfortable adjusting to new plans in a dynamic sales environment
- Able to handle pressure and committed to hard work in a fast-paced context.
