Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructure across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, troubleshooting, and security management, along with hands-on experience in routing, switching, firewalls, and cloud networking.

This is a remote role open to candidates across Canada who are passionate about building resilient and high-performance network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and manage LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Monitor network performance, ensure uptime, and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Implement and manage network security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, cloud engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless network operations.
  • Troubleshoot network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document resolutions.
  • Maintain and update network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions.
  • Evaluate and integrate new network technologies to improve performance and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 1–8 years of professional experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of routing & switching (Cisco, Juniper, HP, etc.).
  • Experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) and VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, etc.).
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Understanding of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, network automation, or Zero Trust environments.
  • Exposure to Linux systems administration or DevOps networking.
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
