Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Level 2 Network Engineer with strong experience in physical infrastructure setup and support. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in structured cabling, rack and stack operations, network hardware installation, server integration, PDU management, optical connectivity, matrix switching, and system health monitoring. This role supports enterprise and/or data center environments and ensures reliable, secure, and optimized network performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform rack and stack of network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and storage systems.
  • Install and manage structured cabling (Cat5e/6, fiber optics), patch panels, and cable trays for clean and efficient layouts.
  • Configure, install, and support Layer 2/3 network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.).
  • Integrate and support server hardware, including connectivity and physical troubleshooting.
  • Deploy and manage PDUs (basic, metered, and intelligent), ensuring proper power allocation and load balancing.
  • Handle optical connectivity, including installation and testing of SFP/SFP+, QSFP, and fiber modules.
  • Set up and maintain matrix switch systems (KVM or AV) for data center or control room environments.
  • Use monitoring tools to assess network and system health, respond to alerts, and ensure high availability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support IT infrastructure projects, expansions, and migrations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all equipment, cabling maps, and network diagrams.
  • Adhere to change management, incident response, and escalation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in network support or data center operations.
  • Proven experience in rack & stack, structured cabling, and hardware deployments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP).
  • Familiarity with PDUs, UPS systems, and power load distribution.
  • Experience with fiber and copper connectivity (installation, testing, troubleshooting).
  • Knowledge of matrix switch technologies (e.g., KVM over IP, AV routing) is a plus.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.) and SNMP-based systems.
  • Comfortable working in raised floor or cold/hot aisle data center environments.
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with tools like NetBox, Visio, or Excel.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour
