About the Role
We are seeking an
Experienced Millwright IW Estimator
to join a growing team within a well-established electrical and mechanical contracting organization. This role involves preparing detailed estimates, managing vendor relationships, and supporting tender and project execution activities across diverse industrial sectors such as Automotive, Steel, Cement, Food, and Chemical manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed labour and material take-offs using Excel and estimating software.
- Submit and review pricing packages from suppliers, distributors, and subcontractors.
- Participate in tender closing activities, including preparing lead letters, reviewing bills of material, and assisting with final cost preparation.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers during the tender period.
- Attend site visits to review conditions.
- Support senior estimators post-award with vendor selection, purchase orders, progress draw schedules, permits, and project reviews.
- Develop and manage labour unit databases.
- Attend safety, training, sales, and strategy meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of Millwright (MW) and/or Ironworker (IW) experience in diverse industries.
- At least 5 years of relevant MW/IW estimating experience.
- Licensed MW, IW, or mechanical engineering background is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings, and project specifications.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Excellent time management and leadership skills.
- Results-driven and accountable.
