RoleReporting to the Chief Operating Officer and Assistant Deputy Minister (COO/ADM), Strategy and Market Access, this position plays a crucial role in developing strategic relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, including energy and minerals industry, the Federal Government, and other provinces. Through coordination of key initiatives within Energy and Minerals, you will advance Alberta's transition to a low-carbon jurisdiction, including relationship management, strategic planning and risk assessment, and support for implementation of carbon-reducing initiatives. Your team serves as a single point of contact and convenes other areas of the department and ministries in government to support commercial initiatives. Under your leadership, the team will work with industry and relevant ministries to develop a pathway for implementing carbon-reducing technologies and liquefied natural gas exports, and credits to achieve carbon neutrality in Alberta's energy sector by 2050. Your exceptional communication skills will support your work with both internal and external stakeholders and your relationship-building skills will be demonstrated through leading department-wide programs and initiatives.
QualificationsYou bring extensive senior management experience in a large, complex organization, ideally within a resource-related sector, and an understanding of the oil and gas industry, mining, and public policy development. Your career experience includes operational and business planning, with demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, grant funding, or financial planning experience. A respected leader with experience leading staff, you have led cross-organizational initiatives and multidisciplinary teams. With strong interpersonal and engagement skills and stakeholder awareness, you have a proven ability to build partnerships and consensus and are skilled at providing unbiased advice and recommendations to senior leadership. A related degree is preferred.
Salary
$5, $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,632 - $179,560 annually)
