Accounts Payable Clerk / Junior Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Edmonton, AB (On-Site)

Compensation: $22.00/hour ($45,760 annually)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable professional to support the day-to-day AP function within a busy accounting team.

This role is ideal for someone with foundational AP experience who is looking to deepen their skills in invoice processing, vendor communication, reconciliations, and payment preparation within a structured accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities – Accounts Payable

  • Enter, review, and process vendor invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Scan, code, and organize Accounts Payable documentation
  • Maintain accurate AP records and ensure proper filing and documentation standards
  • Assist with invoice matching, reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution
  • Support vendor communications by responding to payment inquiries and requests
  • Prepare documentation for payment runs and assist with payment processing
  • Ensure compliance with internal AP processes and timelines
  • Support month-end AP activities as required
  • Learn and follow established accounting workflows and systems

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting Support, or a related finance role
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working with accounting systems and learning new tools quickly
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Sheets, Drive, Docs)
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to manage routine deadlines
  • High school diploma required
  • Post-secondary coursework or education in Accounting or Business is considered an asset

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Fully on-site role
  • 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks (cannot be combined)
  • Business casual environment
  • Vacation: 4% (equivalent to two weeks)
