We are seeking a
Quality Assurance and Administration Specialist
, based out of our Toronto office.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager - North America, this role will be responsible for the Management of Technical Documentation and auditing of Project Procedures to ensure compliance with DRA standards and procedures throughout concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM and EPC project.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain the library of technical information for each Engineering discipline.

This may include:

  • Procedures and Guidelines,
  • Specifications and Standards,
  • Calculation sheets,
  • Function as custodian of DRA master documentation (Standards) to ensure:
  • Adherence to corporate identity
  • Unique identification
  • Review and approval process
  • Change management (revision and status control)
  • Traceability – maintain the master document register
  • Availability and accessibility of documentation at point of use
  • Access control / adequate protection
  • Processes are in place to control the retention and disposition of documented information
  • Ensure that documentation (both native and pdf copies) is correctly numbered and saved in the correct location on the SharePoint site(s).
  • Review the quality of DRA technical documents to ensure that they are well written, grammatically correct and formatted as per DRA standards.
  • Ensure that DRA technical documents are fully signed off.
  • Provide feedback on status of Technical Documentation to HOD's and Engineering Manager.

Quality Assurance

  • Develop a North American Quality Assurance Procedure, based on the procedures, guidelines and templates implemented in the EMEA region.
  • Plan, conduct and document Quality Assurance audits for the Studies and Projects led from the North American offices.
  • Manage the close-out of non-conformances and action items resulting from the above QA audits.
  • Monitor and track QA metrics to identify trends in project quality.
  • Ensure that project quality is managed in accordance with the project quality plan or project specific requirements.

Financial

  • Develop the scope of work for Quality Assurance activities, estimate the effort and hours required by each discipline to participate in QA activities and audits.
  • Track and report on the hours consumed by QA activities and audits

Client Relations

  • Ensures that all interactions with all stakeholders are conducted in professional and respectful manner.
  • Ensures that Project Manager / DRA Management are kept informed and up to date on status of QA audit outcomes.
  • Help Embed an understanding of quality in DRA. Encourage and acknowledge every individual's contribution to the end result

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience would be advantageous
  • 5-10 years' experience within a project administration environment
  • 5-10 years' experience within an EPCM / Mining environment
  • 5-10 years' experience with document management systems
