ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor - Crossroads Centre the Addiction Worker is responsible for assisting in the delivery of treatment services for clients of Adult Addiction & Problem Gambling Programs. Key responsibilities include: providing information and direct enquiries for services supporting and monitoring clients through entry and engagement in the continuum of treatment services (pre, post live-in treatment and aftercare supports), the facilitation of group activities, and ensuring the maintenance of security and upkeep of the facility and program resources.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a two-year Diploma in Social Services or Addictions field
- Minimum of one year experience working with Adult Addiction clients in a congregate setting or community-based programs
Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of addiction issues crisis management and conflict resolution skills
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills and excellent time management skills
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of substance abuse and/or problem gambling
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Asset:
- Knowledge or experience working within DBT and CBT frameworks is considered an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
