 As a member of our instructional Community, you will help students share their experiences, pursue their passion in post-secondary education and support their success in achieving their certificate, diploma or degree.

Established by Nishnawbe Aski Nation, the Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute provides culturally appropriate education and training programs through blended delivery methods using e-learning platforms, attending on-campus sessions, and by distance learning. We offer choice, accessibility and flexibility in learning opportunities for people seeking new beginnings through education and training.

Specific Courses Currently Available for the Winter 2025 term include:

AC 111 – Introduction to Financial Accounting:

In this course, students will be introduced to the accounting cycle and the preparation of financial statements.
Topics include:

o   preparing journal entries to record transactions and adjustments.

o   preparing worksheets.

o   preparing financial statements.

o   accounting for merchandising activities; and,

o   valuing inventory

GB501 Project Management 

In this course, students will develop managerial skills to propose, plan, secure resources, budget, and lead project teams to successful completion of projects. Students will also learn why organizations have developed a formal project management process supported by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and its Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to gain a competitive advantage. The case study approach will be used along with an investigation of software and collaboration tools that aid in carrying out activities of project planning and project execution.

GB440 Statistics

Students will develop the necessary mathematical skills for conducting descriptive and inferential statistical analyses with business applications. Topics will include data description and presentation, probability, probability distributions, sampling distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation.

Delivery Method:

Combination of on-campus Face-Face and on-line learning through use of Zoom Classes and Hyflex Teaching and Learning model. Instructors are required to be available to teach in person on campus for the intensive blocks of learning for a total time period of 4 weeks per semester.

 Wages:

Instructor wage scale $50/ hour based on the number of hours of the course plus a prep fee.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in relevant field

  • 5-7 years of practical experience in the relevant program field and previous teaching experience and work with Indigenous learners

  • Classroom teaching experience is an asset

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, presentation skills

  • Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success

  • Knowledge of Office 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Zoom and PowerPoint would be desirable
