About ASCHA: Alberta Seniors & Community Housing Association (ASCHA) is a non-profit, member-driven association dedicated to being a leader in excellence in education, best practices, member resources and advocacy on behalf of our members and the broader sector. We work to empower housing providers with the knowledge, tools and support they need to deliver the highest quality services to the Albertans who call their communities home. Our goal is to ensure seniors and community housing providers have access to the resources necessary to meet the evolving needs of those they serve. We are looking for a passionate and innovative Learning & Development Manager to lead our educational programs and enhance the professional development of our members
Position Summary: The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for the full scope of learning and development programs. This includes managing education programs from inception through research, development, implementation, marketing, delivery, and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members, presenters, consultants, and subject matter experts to design professional development offerings tailored to the needs of ASCHA members
- Lead the planning and implementation of all learning and development programs, including:
- Management and enhancement of our Learning Management System (The Learning Centre for Seniors Living)
- Coordination of Certificate Programs
- Development and evaluation of webinars with sponsors and presenters
- Administration of scholarship awards
- Annual budget planning for education programs
- Exploration and integration of best practices from other jurisdictions to meet the evolving needs of ASCHA members
- Work with member committees to identify relevant trends, issues, and learning gaps impacting members
- Support education and training provider member relations, recruitment, and retention
- Manage projects related to grants, education partnerships, and the ASCHA learning and development booth at conventions
- Connect with external learning and other sector organizations to access and balance resources and reduce duplication of educational resources
- Exploring innovative funding opportunities including grants and partnerships to ensure long-term viability of programs and initiatives
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design
- Familiarity with online authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360) and learning management systems
- Proven ability to lead projects using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate)or other project management methodologies
- Experience in member-driven not-for-profit organizations is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on delivering engaging content
- Leadership and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Creative, open to new ideas and passionate about driving innovation and learning
Education
A university degree, college diploma, and/or minimum of 5 years experience within education, instructional design, human resources or a related field.
