What will you do?

The Learning & Development Specialist will play a key role in creating, designing, delivering, revamping and updating engaging training programs tailored to both external members and internal staff. The Position will use various training modalities (online, in-person, blended learning) to ensure high-quality, accessible, and effective education for all learners.

Job Responsibilities
- **Design and Develop Training Programs**: Create learning programs tailored to the needs of the construction and trades industry. This includes e-learning, instructor-led, blended learning, and hands-on practical training. Develop training materials including facilitator guides, decks, workbooks, and participant resources.
- **Collaborate with Stakeholders**: Work closely with the Director, Learning, and external members to assess training needs and ensure the developed content aligns with the company’s strategic plans and goals. Collaborate with internal teams to support staff learning initiatives.
- **Evaluate Training Effectiveness**: Implement feedback mechanisms and assessments to measure the impact and effectiveness of training programs, adjusting to ensure continuous improvement.
- **Stay Industry-Current**: Keep up to date with industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in both the construction and trades industry, as well as adult education trends.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of three years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or a similar field in a corporate setting is required.
- CTP (Certified Training Practitioner), CTDP (Certified Training and Development Professional) certificate is an asset.
- Expertise with PowerPoint, e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Vyond, Go Animate), and learning management systems (LMS).
- Experience using a Learning Management System is required.
- Construction and trades knowledge is an asset.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
- Provides and practices sound judgment using independent decision-making.
