We are a fast-paced fire safety company based in Markham, seeking a Junior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong command of the English language, is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and can work independently once trained. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
  • Manage customer collections and maintain an AR cash forecast to support financial planning and cash flow management
  • Perform data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records using Excel and accounting software
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing reports and documentation
  • Maintain and optimize financial databases and records for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with invoicing, expense tracking, and reporting
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers regarding accounting inquiries
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting and operations departments as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing one)
  • 1–2 years of accounting or administrative experience in an office environment
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is an asset
  • Knowledge of the fire and life safety industry is an advantage, but not required
