Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, upbeat, tech savvy Senior Accounting Specialist / Full Cycle Bookkeeper to join our team.

You must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines with a 'can do' attitude. Experience with cloud accounting apps and tools is required as we are essentially a technology firm. Solid English language skills are a must both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee bookkeeping processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Sage, and Xero.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and reports for clients.
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Process payroll and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks online, Sage cloud accounting, or Xero.
  • Proficient in Dext, Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and other online tools and integrations
  • Personal and Corporate tax filing experience an asset
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, and account reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and clients efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Canadian financial regulations is preferred.
  • Education in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • Prior experience in a senior accounting role with a public accounting/ professional bookkeeping practice is advantageous
  • CPB designation an asset
  • CPA's who have the necessary experience are welcome to apply
