Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our team in a shawarma restaurant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting in meal preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the food industry and eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and chop vegetables, meats, and other ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled properly and safely.
  • Support the kitchen team during service by providing timely assistance with meal preparation.
  • Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Experience in food service or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Previous kitchen experience is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.60 per hour
