About the Position:

Reporting to the Retail Supervisor, the Sales Associate provides superior customer service to our clients in the building materials and construction industries. This important team member supports our customers in-store, by answering customer inquiries, providing detailed product information, and directing clients to merchandise within the store.

The Sales Associate also drives in-store sales efforts, by introducing customers to promotions, sales, and flyer events. The Sales Associate adds value to the customer experience by suggesting add-on products that benefit the customer and encourage loyalty.

Relevant Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of retail sales or customer service experience within the trades, construction or building materials industries
  • Strong English communication skills required
  • Excellent teamwork and inter-personal skills
  • Greet customers and assist them in finding the right products
  • Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and organizing merchandise
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor
  • Meet sales targets and goals set by the store manager

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Good communication skills required.
  • Ability to consult, educate and assist customers.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred in a similar industry
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
