We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contribute to our clients' success, and grow within our organization.
Position Summary
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in managing bookkeeping tasks, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax filing requirements. Your expertise in HST filings, T1 personal tax returns, and T2 corporate tax returns will be critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for multiple clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform payroll processing and ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Tax Filing & Compliance
- Accurately prepare and file HST returns, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Complete and review T1 personal tax returns with attention to detail and compliance.
- Prepare T2 corporate tax returns, including reconciliations and working papers.
- Client Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries related to bookkeeping and tax filing.
- Provide clients with timely and accurate financial insights and recommendations.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and maintaining positive client relationships.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to bookkeeping and tax filing processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience & Education
- Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting firm.
- Deep knowledge and experience in filing HST, T1, and T2 returns.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Diploma or degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPB, CPA) are an asset.

Pay: Up to $55,000.00 per year
