Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Software Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks accounting software to manage financial data and generate reports.
- Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Bookkeeping Oversight: Oversee daily bookkeeping activities, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Budget Assistance: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, providing insights to support financial planning.
- Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, taxes, and deductions.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, preparing and filing tax documents in coordination with accountants.
- Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to bookkeeping processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and support external audits, ensuring all financial records are audit-ready.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with management, accountants, and external vendors to provide financial insights and resolve discrepancies.
- Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure organizational compliance.
- Admin: Some admin work required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software : QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and related compliance requirements is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
