Server/Bartender Job Description - Captain's Cabin Pub

Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

Job Summary:

Captain's Cabin Pub is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our team as Servers/Bartenders. You will be responsible for providing exceptional service, mixing and serving drinks, and maintaining the bar while also serving tables in our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and Seat Guests: Welcome guests warmly and seat them promptly, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they arrive.
  • Take Orders: Accurately take food and beverage orders, making recommendations and upselling when appropriate.
  • Serve Food and Drinks: Efficiently serve food and beverages, ensuring accuracy and presentation meet our standards.
  • Bartending Duties: Consistently work behind the bar mixing and serving drinks according to standard recipes or personal taste when provided with ingredients.
  • Bar Maintenance: Handle tap cleaning and upkeep, perform keg changes, and ensure the bar area is clean and well-stocked, Keeping up with weekly cleaning list.
  • Server Float: A server float is provided, and you must keep your float in your cash caddy on your server tray at all times, Or carrying in your server pouch. taking it with you everywhere during your shift.
  • Check IDs: Verify the age of guests ordering alcoholic beverages in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Handle Transactions: Process guest payments, including cash, credit cards, and gift cards, using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Restaurant Service: Serve a restaurant with 10+ tables alone or with one helping server during busier nights, while also bussing/cleaning tables ect.
  • Cleaning & Restocking

ensure the area is clean and well-stocked. Keeping up with weekly cleaning list.

  • Monitor Guest Satisfaction: Regularly check on guests to ensure they are enjoying their experience, address any concerns, and resolve complaints promptly.
  • Work as a Team: Collaborate with kitchen staff, other servers, and management to ensure efficient service and a positive work environment.
  • Promote Events: Inform guests about upcoming events, specials, and promotions at the pub.
  • Adhere to Policies: Follow all company policies, including safety and hygiene regulations, to maintain a safe and pleasant atmosphere for guests and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in bartending and serving roles preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of 10+ drink recipes and the ability to mix drinks to personal taste.
  • Experience with tap cleaning, upkeep, and keg changes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive and outgoing personality.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
