Profile of Kids@ Churchill Park - Kitchen
- Location: #28, Ave NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 5S5

Qualifications, Skills and Professional Attributes
- Current Police Security Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Food safe provincial certification course or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year previous commercial kitchen experience, culinary school an asset
- Knowledgeable of commercial kitchen environment
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, procedures, and allergy/preference diets
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, quality and cleanliness
Role and Responsibilities
- Follow menu and recipes as instructed by Head Chef to prepare food for service
- Complete meals in a timely manner for delivery
- Plan and prepare food for culinary activities
- Insure proper labeling of ingredients, food preparation, and on all food that is ready for delivery
- Assist with packaging food for daily delivery
- Maintain proper food handling procedures for cooking and holding temperature of all food
- Store and care for food supplies in accordance with the health department standards
- Maintain a clean, orderly food service area according to standards set by the Alberta health department
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Clean up stations, equipment and properly store leftover food.
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Familiarity with industry's best practice
- Check cooking area often to ensure maintenance of safety and working order of equipment, appliances, structural item.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with colleagues and management team
- Cooking, prepping and cleaning in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Ability to multitask and spot/resolve problems efficiently
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team
- Ensure that allergies/food preference are followed
- Operate safely various kitchen appliance and sanitize them adequately.
- Document accurate temperatures in accordance to the Alberta health department requirements. Ability to deal with sensitive and maintain confidentiality
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and in-service programs related to food services
