Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook/Kitchen Help to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in meal preparation and ensuring that all food items are prepared according to our high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
  • Must be able to lift heavy amounts of weight.
  • Ensure that all food items are prepared in accordance with established recipes and portion sizes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe cooking environment.
  • Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation.
  • Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
  • Must be flexible in roles.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food handling and food safety practices.
  • Experience in meal preparation within a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • A passion for cooking and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Familiarity with various kitchen equipment and tools.
