Position Details – Facility Superintendent, Part Time

The Newmarket Soccer Club is a long-standing sports organization in the Town of Newmarket. We have a reputation for being a progressive club with extensive programs for our registrants. We own an indoor facility which we use for our programs, and other community organizations. We are looking for a Facility Superintendent to join the group of dynamic team players on our staff. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Facility Superintendent is responsible for the upkeep of the facility as well as the supervision of the additional part-time facility contract personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of the facility
  • Providing a safe environment for participants, spectators and staff
  • Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, repair and upkeep of the facility is maintained
  • Identify and reporting any repairs and upgrades that may be required
  • Supervision of facility attendants which would include for example:
  • Reviewing and interviewing of potential candidates
  • Scheduling to ensure facility coverage during times of usage
  • Onboarding/training
  • The Facility Superintendent will also work with the General Manager with external vendors for preventative maintenance as well as fire safety requirements.

  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent supervisory abilities
  • Confident in interacting with the public
  • Ability to work independently
  • Superior cleaning skills
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Access to own vehicle
  • Ideally residing in the general area of the facility

KNOWLEDGE

  • Basic knowledge of computers / Microsoft platforms
  • WHMIS Training Preferred
  • First Aid Training Preferred

EDUCATION

  • High School Graduate

SHIFTS

  • Weekdays – Evenings
  • Weekends – Days and evenings

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly rate compensation
  • Contract position with no benefits
