Holland Marsh Wineries is currently looking for an energetic and mature sales professional to add to our team. Prior wine experience and knowledge considered a great asset but we are willing to train the right candidate. Looking for someone who is reliable, personable and would like to receive hands on experience in hospitality and tourism.

Job Description:

  • Customer service including selling wines, identifying the best wine for each individual and promoting winery services

  • Conducting knowledgeable wine tours of our facilities/wine making process to groups of people

  • Daily retail duties such as stocking wines, performing an inventory count of wines and accessories, ordering items that are low quantity or out of stock

  • Provide accurate information about our products and services

  • Collect and process payments; track end of day sales using Microsoft Excel

  • Maintain a positive relationship with our club members and regular customers

  • Reply to e-mails and general inquiries in a timely and professional manner

  • Assist other employees with company related tasks when required

  • Occasionally help with some aspects of wine production such as bottling or labeling wines

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members

  • Must be responsible and motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work unsupervised

  • Willing to follow and take direction with a positive attitude

  • Wine knowledge is considered an asset

  • Must be available weekends. This is a "weekend centric" business and Saturday and Sunday availability is mandatory

  • Must have a reliable source of transportation

  • Excel and P.O.S experience considered an asset

  • Smart-serve certified

  • Capable of lifting up to 40lbs (weight of a standard case of wine)

  • Newmarket, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Restaurant/Food and Beverage: 1 year (preferred)
  • Hospitality/Tourism: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Smart Serve (required)
