Job Duties

  • Prepare and submit accurate and complete customs entries to ensure timely clearance of goods.
  • Review shipping documents, invoices, and packing lists to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Classify products using the correct Harmonized System (HS) codes and determine appropriate tariff classifications.
  • Provide guidance on duty rates and applicable trade agreements based on product classification.
  • Ensure all customs activities are fully compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and international trade agreements.
  • Monitor updates to customs regulations and communicate any changes to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, including CBSA, to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customs entries.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and requests for additional information from customs officials.
  • Work cross-functionally with logistics, procurement, and sales teams to collect necessary documentation and information.
  • Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained and valid for customs clearance.
  • Identify and address any customs-related problems efficiently to prevent delays or compliance issues.
  • Support continuous improvement in customs processes to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international business, supply chain management, or customs compliance. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) are preferred.
  • Experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of customs regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS) codes and tariff classification.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance software and related tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $47,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
