Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Executive Director, Status of Women and Inclusion, the Priority Issues Coordinator is the Executive Director's primary link to emerging issues and activities within the Status of Women & Inclusion branch (including Strategic Stakeholder Outreach), coordinates a variety of the branch's business planning and operations, and ensures smooth communication flow between the branch, ADMO, and the rest of the department. To undertake this work, the Priority Issues Coordinator must have a strong understanding of the various programs and initiatives managed by the branch as well as the key stakeholders that ensure the timely and effective delivery of information. To react to the most current and pressing issues, the position must incorporate a flexible and adaptable work plan to ensure communications, briefings, and reports are coordinated daily, and that the ED and Directors have the expertise and input required to make critical decisions.
The Priority Issues Coordinator will contribute to the success of the Executive Director's Office by:
- Identifying system linkages and connections in the work of the Status Women & Inclusion branch.
- Building and leveraging partnerships and relationships within the Status of Women & Inclusion branch.
- Understanding the branch's processes and systems coupled with a solid understanding of the branch's programs, priorities, initiatives, funding and revenue sources, and its relationship with key stakeholders including cross-ministry and federal, provincial and territorial partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Coordinate Issues Management
- Coordinate information from various units and other branches/Divisions as required independently to ensure proper integration of information.
- Work closely with the unit Directors to determine key priorities and goals for the year, coordinate and establish the branch operational and business plans, annual and quarterly reports, and all other performance reporting for the branch.
- Provide ongoing support in the branch's change management efforts, and ensure internal communication and engagement for all staff members. Support the Executive Director to achieve the goals of the Division in internal communications and employee engagement.

University graduation in a related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
This position requires:
- Knowledge of GoA strategic business plans and goals as it relates to the Divisional and Ministry mandate.
- Internal administrative policies and procedures related to ARTS and communications.
- Issues management and project management experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clarify and resolve issues with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to develop and implement procedures and systems that reflect organizational capacity building.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Hours of work are 36.25 hours (5 days) per week, This is a temporary position -Up to 10 months.
