Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic or 2-4th year apprentices to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy trucks. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills, with experience working on various types of heavy trucks. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, efficiency, and customer service are paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy trucks
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal operation of trucks
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams
  • Conduct mechanical repairs including engine work, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and assembly tasks
  • Perform heavy lifting safely using appropriate equipment and techniques
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
  • Assist with equipment installation, assembly, and testing as needed
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs

Skills

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy trucks
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and industrial equipment
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
  • Experience with maintenance procedures for farm machinery or industrial equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of assembly processes and troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication skills for customer service interactions
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: $27.97-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
