Reporting to the Director, Special Projects, the Operational Systems Specialist will assist in creating and developing processes related to operations software to support the project teams and overall operations.What you will be working on- Be the key District contact for system functionality and business process questions.
- Provide support to employees and various departments with troubleshooting on operations systems matters.
- Troubleshoot issues and triage to the appropriate support team.
- Collaborate with various departments (i.e. Operations, Finance, IT, etc.) on process improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with district field and office staff to ensure the system is providing the required information and reporting.
- Work closely with IT to ensure that functional reporting requirements are identified and met.
- Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure that workflow is smooth and continuous, and that identified procedures are followed.
- Partner with IT, Finance and National Operations to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Facilitate meetings, task groups, teams/Superuser groups, reviews and other environments to communicate information and updates to the impacted individuals.
- Develop, document, and maintain procedures and workflows.
- Develop and deliver training related to operations technology and updates to process.
- Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to improve reliability and usability.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of systems and attend required meetings.
- Identify changes that may impact other applications and work with impacted departments to plan for the changes.
- Report regularly to leadership on process efficiency, system use and ongoing issues or concerns.
- Promote and support change initiatives regarding operational systems.
- Post-secondary education related to construction, business, or equivalent program and experience.
- Understanding of accounting principles.
- Understanding of project cost controls.
- Proven experience in operations technology, systems coordination or process improvement.
- Previous experience working with InEight, Viewpoint, Procore, or other project management or construction finance related software preferred.
- Proven experience troubleshooting with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management abilities with technical and non-technical teams with various levels within the organization.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, flexibility, and strong commitment to achieving goals
- Ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
