Position Summary

TRE Designs Ltd. is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Warehouse Team Lead to oversee daily operations at our Vancouver warehouse. This position is ideal for someone who can lead by example—working physically alongside the team while maintaining accurate documentation, clear communication, and strong coordination with logistics and site teams.

The Warehouse Team Lead will be responsible for supervising workers (both company staff and temp labour), unloading and organizing heavy building materials, preparing deliveries for job sites using flat deck and box trucks, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse operation.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Material Handling

  • Lead daily warehouse operations including receiving, unloading, and organizing heavy building materials such as windows, cladding, and millwork.
  • Safely operate forklifts and lifting equipment for unloading containers and loading trucks (forklift certification required).
  • Ensure materials are handled with care to prevent damage during receiving, storage, and loading.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times.

Delivery Preparation & Coordination

  • Plan and prepare deliveries from the warehouse to project sites using company flat deck and box trucks.
  • Verify materials against delivery orders and ensure accurate documentation before dispatch.
  • Coordinate loading based on site delivery schedules, crane access, and site restrictions.
  • Communicate with site teams to confirm delivery timing and requirements.

Team Leadership & Scheduling

  • Supervise warehouse workers, including company employees and temporary labourers.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules and coordinate manpower according to receiving and delivery needs.
  • Provide on-site training for proper material handling, equipment operation, and safety compliance.

Inventory Control & Documentation

  • Manage and track all incoming and outgoing materials with accurate inventory records, receiving notes, packing lists, and stock reports.
  • Maintain material location maps and ensure easy traceability of items.
  • Support import documentation and coordinate with logistics teams for container arrivals.
  • Report inventory discrepancies or damage promptly to management.

Safety & Equipment Maintenance

  • Enforce WorkSafeBC safety standards and ensure all workers follow PPE and equipment safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of forklifts, lifting tools, and trucks to ensure proper function.
  • Implement and maintain safe rigging, lifting, and loading practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations (construction or building materials preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate a small team including temp workers.
  • Forklift certification and hands-on experience in loading/unloading heavy materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and accuracy in documentation and inventory control.
  • Experience preparing and coordinating deliveries using flat deck or box trucks.
  • Knowledge of material handling, rigging, and WorkSafeBC safety procedures.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with warehouse or construction management software (Procore, Fieldwire, Excel).
  • Basic understanding of import documentation (packing list, commercial invoice, HS code).
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
