Job description:

Our client is a boutique, family-owned real estate asset management firm focused on acquisition, redevelopment, and long-term operation of commercial and mixed-used properties in established and growing neighborhoods in Vancouver. As owner-managers, they take pride in providing first-class asset management and maintaining a stable, supportive work environment that values work-life balance.

The Role:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting for multiple entities, including corporate, property management, and redevelopment projects.
  • Manage accounts payable, ensuring that invoices are accurate and paid on time.
  • Maintenance of general ledger, journal entries, job cost and intercompany reconciliation.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
  • Record rental revenue, operating cost recoveries, and reconcile tenant accounts
  • Prepare Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with the preparation of CAM and property tax reconciliation
  • Maintain lease abstracts and ensure rent schedules, deposits, and escalations are correctly tracked.

The Candidate:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in real estate development or property management
  • Holds a bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting or a related field.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrates strong work ethics.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with management, service providers, tenants and external accountants.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Yardi, and/or Sage
