Position OverviewThe Accountant will play a key role in our day-to-day financial operations, supporting the full accounting cycle, accurate recordkeeping, and timely reporting. Working closely with the Senior Accountant and CFO, this role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to deepen their accounting expertise in a growing fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Accounting Operations

  • Process and record journal entries, AP/AR transactions, and employee reimbursements.
  • Manage vendor payments and ensure timely processing of invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records in the general ledger.

Reconciliations & Month-End Close

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Support the month-end close process, including account reviews and schedules.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly management reports.

Financial Support & Compliance

  • Assist in audit preparation and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Ensure financial documents comply with CRA and provincial regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding and reporting of transactions.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows.
  • Support the adoption and optimization of cloud-based financial tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience in a professional setting (fintech or SaaS experience is an asset).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (NetSuite experience is a plus), Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a dynamic environment.
