Job Summary

We are a northern boutique agency hosted by Envoyage/Flight Centre Group, and we are seeking a detail oriented experienced Apollo GDS Travel Consultant to join our dynamic team. This role's main duty includes managing a specific important corporate account daily. This involves monitoring Apollo GDS queue for new files coming in for finalization and forwarding to ticketing, and then communicating travel documents digitally to the traveller(s). Regional carrier files are paid online and included in the documentation package for the traveller. This main role operates during business hours weekdays pacific time zone - with some flexibility.

Beyond this main duty, depending on desire, ability and initiative, you may take over or bring in other corporate accounts, groups, or vacation travel in a complete consulting role including research, quote, booking and sales. Your expertise in sales and customer service will help clients find the best options tailored to their needs, whether it's for leisure or business travel.

Main Duties

  • Monitor Apollo GDS queue for new files during weekday business hours
  • Log files in spreadsheet and save digital copy to shared company drive
  • Modify GDS files to include stored fare and Agency ID etc
  • Mask files & forward to ticketing Queue, communicating with ticketers via email
  • Retrieve & save digital copies of completed files and electronic tickets
  • Email electronic tickets to traveller(s)
  • Complete receipt to email client, charging preset fees in online POS
  • Provide quotes for personal changes to files requested by traveller
  • Ensure all files are completed and delivered by 4pm Pacific Time daily
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel trends, regulations, and industry developments.
  • Professional and courteous customer service to highest level

Optional Additional Work

  • Engage with clients online and by phone to understand their travel preferences and requirements.
  • Research efficiently to provide expert advice on destinations, and travel options.
  • Book flights, hotels, car rentals, and other travel services on behalf of clients.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that may arise during the booking process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
  • Collaborate with hotels, airlines, and other vendors to secure the best rates and packages.
  • Prepare detailed itineraries for clients that include all necessary travel information.
  • Prepare receipt for clients.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years previous Apollo GDS SmartPoint experience
  • High level attention to detail and process
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Proficient in using travel booking software and online platforms. GDS, Excel, and ClientBase, a bonus.
  • Team player with can-do attitude
