Home-Based Corporate Travel Consultant

Tailwind Travel is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Home-Based Corporate Travel Consultant to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned travel professional with a passion for servicing corporate clientele throughout Canada and around the world. You will be working with a team of agents across Canada to provide seven days a week travel support to our list of corporate clients.

About the Role:

As a Home-Based Travel Consultant, you'll be an indispensable partner for our corporate clients, meticulously managing every detail of their business travel. You'll go beyond simple bookings, crafting seamless and efficient travel experiences that support their professional goals. This dynamic role requires a proactive approach and a dedication to service excellence, all from the comfort and flexibility of your home office.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Comprehensive Travel Management: Expertly book and manage all facets of corporate travel, including complex multi-leg flights, diverse hotel accommodations, car rentals, and other ground transportation. This also extends to arranging specialized services like meeting spaces, private transfers, and VIP amenities as needed.
  • Personalized Itinerary Curation: Leverage your expertise to provide tailored travel recommendations and meticulously planned itineraries. You'll consider client preferences, budget constraints, corporate travel policies, and potential disruptions, ensuring optimal efficiency and comfort for each traveler.
  • Proactive Client Profile Management: Maintain precise and up-to-date client profiles, including travel preferences, loyalty program details, payment methods, and historical travel data. Accurate record-keeping is crucial for anticipating needs and delivering consistent, high-quality service.
  • Exceptional Customer Service & Problem Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for all travel-related inquiries and issues. This includes providing prompt assistance with itinerary changes, cancellations, re-bookings, and resolving unforeseen challenges such as flight delays, lost luggage, or emergency situations with composure and efficiency.
  • Industry Expertise & Compliance: Continuously stay abreast of the latest travel industry trends, technological advancements, airline policies, visa requirements, and global travel regulations. Your knowledge ensures clients receive accurate information and adhere to all necessary guidelines.
  • Strategic Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture strong, lasting relationships with a portfolio of corporate clients. By understanding their business needs and travel patterns, you'll become a trusted advisor, anticipating their requirements and proactively offering solutions that enhance their travel experience.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • GDS System Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of the Sabre Global Distribution Systems (GDS) is highly preferred. If you don't have direct experience, a demonstrated aptitude and eagerness to learn these critical systems quickly are essential.
  • Superior Communication & Interpersonal Skills: You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with corporate clients, vendors, and colleagues. Your ability to listen actively, convey information clearly, and build rapport will be key.
  • Self-Management & Remote Work Capability: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage your time effectively in a home-based environment. You should be self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of maintaining productivity without direct supervision.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail & Organizational Prowess: A keen eye for detail is paramount for accurate bookings, itinerary creation, and record-keeping, minimizing errors and ensuring client satisfaction. Strong organizational skills will help you manage multiple clients and complex arrangements simultaneously.
  • Technical Fluency: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required for communication, data management, and administrative tasks.
  • Adaptable Work Schedule: Flexibility to work hours that align with client needs, which may include some evenings, early mornings, or weekends, especially for urgent requests or clients in different time zones.
  • Industry Certifications (Asset): While not mandatory, IATA accreditation, travel and tourism diplomas, or other relevant industry certifications are a significant advantage and will be highly regarded. TICO is required for Ontario based consultants.
