Job Description

The Business Development Lead is responsible for driving growth, strengthening client relationships, and promoting the company's insulation and scaffolding services. This role plays a crucial part in expanding market presence, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring that client needs are met through effective collaboration with internal teams. The Business Development Lead must lead by example and foster a culture that values people, professionalism, and integrity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Sales Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day business development and sales activities across insulation and scaffolding service lines.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in industrial, commercial, and construction sectors.
  • Implement strategic business plans to achieve targeted revenue and profitability goals.
  • Drive key performance metrics and provide guidance to ensure results are achieved.
  • Build and maintain a strong company image through ethical business practices and consistent client engagement.
  • Conduct regular client meetings, presentations, and site visits related to new projects, progress updates, and contract discussions.
  • Maintain strong discussions with customers, vendors, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Travel to client sites as required.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate client feedback to operations and leadership teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with prequalification documentation and ensure all client requirements are met for upcoming bids and projects.
  • Resolve customer issues proactively and work collaboratively with project teams to enhance customer experience.

Collaboration with Estimating and Operations

  • Work closely with the Estimating division to review bids, provide input on project opportunities, and align on execution strategy.
  • Coordinate bid follow-ups, scheduling, and lead tracking with the President and Director of Business Development.
  • Engage with internal divisions to ensure alignment on bids selected for pursuit and execution.
  • Support project handover processes to ensure clarity of scope, client expectations, and project requirements.

Pipeline Management and Reporting

  • Maintain a structured and transparent pipeline of opportunities, leads, and client prospects.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales forecasts, market activity, and revenue projections.
  • Provide insight and forecasting data to support annual budgeting and long-term planning.

Quality and Compliance Support

  • Ensure all business development activities comply with applicable company policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Professional Development and Industry Awareness

  • Stay current on industry trends, market developments, and client needs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within insulation, scaffolding, construction, or industrial services.
  • Strong understanding of project-based industrial environments.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
