Cullen Diesel Power, Kamloops is seeking to hire a Commercial Transport/Heavy Duty Mechanic.

This position includes work in all areas of the workshop & may also include field work on mining,

marine, logging, generator-set and on-highway trucks.

Shift: Based on Collective Agreement.

***The successful candidate will be asked to participate in Basic First Aid Training***

  • An individual who is able to make decisions in the field, assertive, self-motivated with attention to

detail is essential.

APPLICANT MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to follow direction.

  2. Extensive engine overhaul experience.

  3. Must be fully experienced in troubleshooting & repair of 2 and 4 cycle engines.

  4. Extensive experience trouble shooting mechanical & Electronic Controls issues.

  5. High Horsepower (S-2000/4000) Tier I & II, Troubleshooting, repair & overhaul experience or

ability to achieve certification.

  1. Must be fully experienced and able to troubleshoot any problems within our product line.

  2. Ability to write complete, detailed & accurate service reports is Essential.

  3. Must be experienced and able to troubleshoot on/off highway transmissions, Eaton, Allison

experience an asset.

  1. Applicant must participate in all company directed training.

  2. Have MVI certification or willing to acquire.

  3. Have a class 3 Drivers License with an air brake endorsement, preferable that applicant have a

Class 1 Drivers License with air brake endorsement.

  1. Applicant must be aware that they will be required to be on call on weekends as required.

  2. Applicant must be aware that safety indoctrination is site specific & must be completed before

entering the site. All sites require drug & alcohol testing prior to coming to site. All safety rules &

testing must be abided by at all times.

  1. This position can be very demanding and can involve long work days.

  2. Must also be aware that they may be required to be available for outside jobs and ready-to-go

with short notice.
