Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight and equipment across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and efficient delivery of goods. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair are highly desirable to support operational needs and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight and equipment to designated locations.
  • Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement.
  • Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
  • Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to ensure vehicle readiness.
  • Follow all safety protocols and transportation regulations to ensure safe operations at all times.
  • Operate heavy equipment as necessary for loading/unloading or site work related to freight handling.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred.
  • Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus.
  • Basic automotive repair skills are desirable for maintaining vehicle performance.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to safety procedures and compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks related to freight handling.
