Controls Technician

Fully on-site in Mississauga
Pay: $35-47/hr incorp
Must Haves
- 5+ years of IoT experience with specialization within controls and automation for sensors
- Professional experience within Control Engineering (Manufacturing/Industrial/Commercial)
- Experience with real-time monitoring sensors
- Set tolerances and parameters for alarms (e.g., trigger alerts if a refrigeration unit is off for 5+ minutes or experiences a complete failure).
- Ensure sensors are calibrated to detect anomalies and communicate alerts in real-time.
- Alarm Strategy & Response
- Develop and maintain alarm logic for asset failures or performance deviations.
- Collaborate with teams to define what actions are triggered post-alert (e.g., dispatch technician, shut down system, notify stakeholders).
- Controls Standardization & Architecture
- Contribute to the development of standardized controls specifications across departments (e.g., grocery, pharmacy) based on operational and regulatory needs.
- Support the design of scalable, hardware-agnostic network architecture for controls systems.
- Digital asset management experience
- Setting the tolerance and perimeters for sensors
- Experience with asset inventory management tools (a CMMS) and maintaining accurate records of assets
- Track sensor performance, asset health, and maintenance history to provide insights on alerts, failures to help with further strategy on asset reliability,
- Experience reporting data and presentation with tools such as Excel and Powerpoint
