Role Summary:

Supports the lead technician in installing, servicing, and repairing security systems. Works under direction and does not carry full independent installation responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in installation, service, and repair of access control, CCTV, intercom, and alarm systems for commercial and residential customers.
  • Read and understand scopes of work, drawings, and basic schematics under guidance.
  • Pull, terminate, and label cabling based on instructions from the lead technician.
  • Prepare cable routes, supports, and mounting locations for devices.
  • Complete required documentation (work orders, service forms, etc.) with support as needed.
  • Communicate daily with Project Manager/Coordinator regarding task progress and delays, as directed by the lead technician.
  • Perform basic system programming and configuration tasks under supervision.
  • Follow OBC and other applicable codes at a basic awareness level.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of cabling, device mounting, and basic termination.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions carefully.
  • Basic programming familiarity is an asset.
  • Does not work independently; always follows direction from Tech-2 or Project Lead.
