Forklift Operator/Shipping and Receiving

NWI Precision specializes in high-precision machining of helicopter masts, turbine shafts, engine thrust links, and nuclear pressure vessel components for the aerospace and nuclear industries worldwide. Operating from a 120,000 sq. ft. facility at 9 Fenmar Drive in Toronto, our dedicated team is committed to delivering the highest quality products to specifications and on time. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Shipper and Receiver to join our team and support our expanding operations.This position is responsible for completing various tasks, related to all activities in the shipping/receiving/stores department.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verifies, visually inspects all incoming and outgoing shipments, oils, packs and prepares items for shipment, and ensures shipments meet all internal/external specifications.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with related or responsible departments to inform and/or rectify damages and shortages.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, customs documents, invoices, orders, or other records. Prepare above documents if necessary.
• Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment.
• Routes items to the afferent locations like Quarantine, Receiving Inspection, Stores, Shop floor.
• Works with the Inventory and Logistics Administrator/Lead Hand/Supervisor on all issues related to inventory, receiving and shipping. (Organizing and maintaining the inventory of raw material and Finished Goods, including help in coordination of inventory counts and audits).
• Operates lift truck, hand truck, overhead crane to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or shop work area.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons/crates.
• Maintains inventory/min-max of shipping materials and supplies and informs purchasing of shortages.
• Maintain an FOD free, tidy work environment.
• Other duties as assigned in both F9 and F11 location.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

• Four (4) years' experience in shipping/receiving or a similar role
• Strong communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs
• Previous forklift reach truck or hand truck equipment experience is an asset
• Safety conscious
• Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other fundamental data-based ERP applications
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills with multitasking ability
• Able to work under pressure
• A confident self-starter with sound decision-making skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, trouble shooting skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
